The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Victor Umeh, has reassured his constituents of sustained support for meaningful development initiatives across the zone.

Senator Umeh gave the assurance while speaking to journalists at Umuawulu, Awka South Local Government Area, shortly after attending a civic reception organised in honour of Anambra philanthropist, High Chief Christopher Nduibisi, popularly known as Ikenga Umuawulu.

According to him, the synergy between his office, the Anambra State Government and committed individuals such as Chief Nduibisi would continue to yield visible benefits for the people.

“Our people deserve the best, and under my representation, we will continue to support every cause that improves their welfare. Philanthropists like Ikenga Umuawulu have shown us that development is not the task of government alone,” Umeh said.

He commended Chief Nduibisi for his outstanding community service, noting that the philanthropist had singlehandedly undertaken several landmark projects in Umuawulu, including the construction and asphalting of roads and other amenities that have uplifted the area.

“I am here today to rejoice with Umuawulu community for recognising their son for his numerous developmental projects. All the roads in this community have been constructed and tarred through his efforts. His legacy projects are not only a source of pride but also a motivation for others to emulate,” Umeh added.

The Senator also lauded the people of Umuawulu for honouring Chief Nduibisi, describing the civic reception as “the best way to appreciate someone who has consistently worked for the progress of his people.”

While praying for God’s continued blessings on the philanthropist, Umeh urged him not to be deterred in his commitment to community development, stressing that his efforts were inspiring a new culture of giving back across Anambra Central.

The colourful ceremony, held at Umuawulu Central School field, drew together traditional rulers, community leaders, political associates, and well-wishers, all of whom celebrated Chief Nduibisi’s contributions to grassroots development.
