Four members of Nnamdi Azikiwe University community have been elected into the Senate of the university as the schools representative in the governing council.
They are: Professors Okoye, Oraegbunam, Utoh-Ezeajugh, and Onyiorah.
The 226th Senate Meeting, presided over by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Carol Arinze-Umobi, witnessed the election of these members. The election was supervised by Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Peter Agbonome, alongside the Acting Registrar, Rev. Samuel Ufoh.
The four Senate Representatives elected and as announced by the Acting Vice-Chancellor: Prof. Pius V.C. Okeke (Department of Accountancy, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences) – 152 votes; Rev. Fr. Prof. Ken Oraegbunam (International Law and Jurisprudence, Faculty of Law) – 119 votes; Prof. Tracie Utoh-Ezeajugh (Department of Theatre and Film Studies, Faculty of Arts) – 115 votes, and Prof. Igwebuike Onyiorah (Department of Anatomical Pathology and Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Basic Clinical Medicine) – 111 votes .
These four members were selected from a pool of 21 nominated candidates.
