Vice-Chancellor Bond Anyaehie Meets Power Company, Seeks Steady Electricity Supply for UNIZIK

The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, has met with the Managing Director/CEO of the FGN Power Company (Presidential Power Initiative), Mr. Kenny Anuwe, in Abuja to seek enhanced electricity support for the institution.

During the meeting, Prof. Anyaehie outlined his vision for the university and emphasized the urgent need for reliable power to strengthen teaching, learning, and research.

He also reaffirmed the university’s readiness to partner with the FGN Power Company, especially in restoring and optimizing the institution’s solar farm to ensure steady electricity supply.

In his response, Mr. Anuwe congratulated Prof. Anyaehie on his appointment and assured him of the company’s commitment to supporting UNIZIK’s energy needs.

The visit was part of the Vice-Chancellor’s official engagements in Abuja, which also included a meeting with Senator Patrick Ndubueze.

Prof. Anyaehie was appointed Vice-Chancellor of UNIZIK on November 16, 2026.
