Enugwu-Ukwu community in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State has clarified that it has 18 villages in the community and not 25 as stated in the recently circulated Igu-Aro brochure.
Traditional Information Minister of Enugwu-Ukwu community and Chairman, Umunri Colloquium Commission, Ozomkpu Chief Uche Nworah Ph.D
(Ezeudo Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri) stated this in a press statement.
He said: “The attention of Eze Enugwu-Ukwu na Igwe Umunri, Igwe Sir Ralph Obumnaeme Ekpeh, the Enugwu-Ukwu traditional cabinet and the President General of Enugwu-Ukwu Community Development Union (ECDU), Chief Patrick Manga Nworji (on behalf of ECDU) has been drawn to the erroneous information contained on page 88 of the 2025 Enugwu-Ukwu Igu-Aro brochure.
“The said information listed the number of villages in Enugwu-Ukwu as 25. This information is erroneous and is a result of ‘printer’s devil’.
“It is regretted, please. For the records, and in line with the 2008 constitution of Enugwu-Ukwu town, Enugwu-Ukwu has 18 villages only.
“His Majesty has directed the Igu-Aro Commission and the team responsible for the production of the Igu-Aro brochure to ensure that future publications are carefully vetted to ensure that the information contained therein is accurate,” he said.
