The Healthy Living office of Anambra State First Lady, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, was not sealed by the Anambra State Housing Development Control (ASHDC) because it had secured the necessary commercial purposes approval,Chinedu Obigwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), clarified.

Obigwe explained that the ASHDC enforcement team had sealed off multiple properties at Udoka Housing Estate in Awka due to the illegal conversion of residential spaces into commercial use without obtaining the required approvals.

He emphasized that the action was prompted by property owners’ disregard for the law and aligned with Governor Soludo’s administration’s determination to enforce regulations and ensure compliance.

Obigwe also praised the team for their efforts to ensure proper land use and uphold urban development standards, including sealing off a Ponzi scheme office operated by an impostor, Edozie Njoku.

He noted that the enforcement team gave property owners sufficient notice and reminders before taking action,l dismissing claims of politicization.

Obigwe reiterated that the action was not targeted at anybody or a political witch hunt, but rather a step towards ensuring that property owners comply with the law.

Obigwe’s statement read in part,”Disgruntled opposition elements that are labouring in vain to politicise the commendable action taken by the enforcement team of Anambra State Housing Development Control (ASHDC) must be told in plain language that Anambra under Governor Soludo administration watch is not a banana republic where everything goes.

“Things that are possible in the past are no longer possible now because Governor Soludo administration is determined to ensure that we start doing things the right way and not behaving anyhow we like.

“If you do anyhow under Governor Soludo administration watch, you will face the full wrath of the law.

“The enforcement team of ASHDC took commendable action by sealing off multiple properties at Udoka Housing Estate Awka.

“You cannot secure residential use approval for a property and turn the property into commercial use .

“Even if you want to do that, you approach Anambra State Housing Development Control for a change of use from residential purposes to commercial purposes.
