You’re an impostor, show your APGA membership card, Ezeokenwa tells Edozie Njoku
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, has asserted that Edozie Njoku is not a member of the party.
Njoku has importunately claimed the position of National Chairmanship of APGA even from the previous regime led by Chief Victor Oy
But Ezeokenwa during an appearance on TVC’s Politics Tonight, affirmed that “Edozie Njoku is not a member of APGA, stating that If he is, let him show his membership card signed by Victor Ike Oye.
Ezeokenwa said,”We cannot reconcile with a non-member of APGA. The party conducted membership validation in 2019, and according to records, Edozie Njoku did not visit his ward for such validation, and thus, he is not a member of APGA.”
The APGA National Chairman emphasized that Chief Edozie Njoku went to three courts, using proxies, to seek an interpretation of the Supreme Court ruling.
“He sought to be declared the National Chairman of the party. However, the apex court affirmed the judgment of the Appeal Court at that time, stating that Oye remained the Chairman of the party, Ezeokenwa averred.
Continuing, Ezeokenwa stated, “The three courts that have given judgments on the matter include the judgment delivered by the Federal High Court Abuja on 28/3/2023 in SUIT NO. FHC/ABJ/CS/1750/2022 APGA & ORS v. INEC & ORS, the judgment delivered by the Federal High Court Awka on 5/4/2023 in SUIT NO. FHC/AWK/CS/202/2022 APGA & ORS v. INEC & ORS, and the judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal Abuja on 2/6/2023 in APPEAL NO. CA/ABJ/CV/454/23 APGA & ORS v. INEC & ORS.
“As of June 2, 2023, these three final judgments had established that the Supreme Court of Nigeria never declared Chief Edozie Njoku as the National Chairman of APGA.
“On June 6, 2023, the Supreme Court informed Edozie Njoku that it did not recognize him as the National Chairman of APGA. Njoku’s proxies allegedly obtained a judgment from the FCT High Court Bwari in a case unrelated to APGA.
“This judgment claimed that the actions of Chief Victor Oye, the National Chairman( as he then was), were in violation of previous Supreme Court judgments. However, APGA was not involved in this case, and the judgment conflicts with a superior judgment from the Court of Appeal delivered on June 2, 2023.
“Additionally, Chief Victor Oye had already handed over the chairmanship to me by June 6, 2023. Therefore, the Bwari judgment is irrelevant. However, it’s worth noting that the Appeal Court has strongly criticized the trial Judge, referring to his actions as judicial rascality. As a result, further proceedings on the said suit have been stayed.”
Ezeokenwa urged the general public to disregard the antics of Edozie Njoku and his co-travelers regarding APGA leadership, maintaining that the party remained united and undivided.
