The National Co-ordinator of the All Progressives Grand Alliance Media Warriors, Chinedu Obigwe, has asked the public to disregard media reports that one Uzu,an aide to Governor Willie Obiano, has the backing of the governor in his purported ambition to vie for the Senatorial seat of Anambra Central on the platform of APGA in the 2023 general elections.

Obigwe in a statement on Sunday described any claims in that respect as the joke of the millennium.

OBIGWE’S STATEMENT READS:

Re – Obiano’s Chief of Protocol Uzu to Battle Umeh over APGA Senatorial ticket* .

I will describe the above referred news report as a millennium joke.

What I will add is that the insinuation that Obiano is backing the yet to be confirmed aspiration of Uzu to Battle Umeh over APGA Senatorial ticket is a complete falsehood.

If he is contesting for Senate, he is doing that on his own and should not leverage on Obiano’s goodwill by insinuating that he has the backing of our 1 and only humane Governor in Nigeria.

If he has any goodwill, he should deploy it in pursuit of such ambition.

The truth for now is that it is still a rumour but when he officially makes it known to the general public, I will say more.

For now, I can say that Obiano’s main interest is to complete his remaining legacy projects and handover to Soludo on March 17th.

I will not also shy away from saying that Governor Obiano favoured those that worked with him in suchh a way that they should be contented with how God used him to bless them.

The caption of the above news report is an insult to the personality called Sen. Victor Umeh.

I think he deserves some respect and not to be insulted.

The good people of Anambra Central will make a wise decision in the forthcoming 2023 general election.
