Chief Primus Odili, a frontline aspirant for the Anambra North Senatorial District under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has said he focused on the his Senatorial aspiration

When asked about his thoughts on politicians with criminal records, he reiterates focus on his Senatorial aspirations not on Politicians with Criminal records. He maintains that it is the duty of journalists and law enforcement in Anambra State to use their professional skills to expose politicians with criminal records especially those seeking elective office ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Chief Odili, popularly known as “Okeosisi Aguleri,” made the pronouncement during an interactive session with journalists in Awka.

He stressed that he is not disposed to take questions concerning politicians with records noting that the media must protect the integrity of the electoral process by bringing the backgrounds of political actors to public scrutiny.

Speaking on the forthcoming APGA primary for the Anambra North Senatorial seat, Chief Odili expressed confidence in the party hierarchy insisting that Mr Governor promised aspirants free, fair and credible primaries.

Chief Odili urged journalists to remain courageous and resolute in carrying out their duties making sure that they do jot heat up the polity unnecessarily with unfounded stories. Speaking on the need to speak the truth at all times, he quoted Wole Soyinka’s – The Man Died: The man dies in all who keep silent in the face of tyranny.”

Responding to a question about reports that a member of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s “kitchen cabinet” had been drafted into the Anambra North Senatorial contest, Odili dismissed the claim as false and unfounded insisting that all aspirants expressed their interests in various offices on their own volition and no one was personally drafted by anyone.

He said the governor had repeatedly stated that he had no preferred candidate in the race.

Odili maintained that he has remained loyal to APGA over the years and has contributed significantly to the party’s growth in Anambra North and across the state, particularly during his era as Chief of Staff to former Governor Willie Obiano.

The senatorial hopeful added that only a candidate with broad grassroots appeal and widespread acceptance can win the seat for APGA in Anambra North in the 2027 elections.
