Son of the president of Nigeria, Barr Seyi Tinubu has sponsored a novelty match for youths in Abuja to boost the popularity of President Bola Tinubu ahead of 2027.
The tournament which sponsored by Barr Seyi Tinubu was championed by the coordinator of Obidient General Worldwide Team, Hon Ikenna Azomchine, who represented the coordinators of other support groups rooting for President Bola Tinubu at the event.
The tournament was championed by BMT All Stars Football Club, Abuja, and was between two teams; Tinubu FC and Obidient FC. The novelty match ended in a 2-0 defeat against the Obidient FC.
Addressing supporters after the match, Azomchine called for massive support for President Bola Tinubu in next year’s election.
He stated that the tournament was sponsored by Seyi Tinubu who was unavoidably absent, promising that he has given his word to attend the next match. He thanked Seyi for always supporting youths, while also pointing out to Nigerians the need to vote for Tinubu in the next election.
Azomchine said: “I feel pained that Tinubu FC won Obidient FC where I belong, but this shows that President Bola Tinubu will win Obidient again in the next election.
“I want to tell you all that I’m in this Tinubu support team today because I love Nigeria. We have all seen the reforms of this administration and we are calling on you to keep you PVCs safe and to come out in your number to vote for Tinubu in January 2027.
“We are Nigerians and we need to be realistic about our support for Nigeria to attain the status of a great nation. Tinubu is making it happen and we will vote for him in 2027,” Azomchine said.
Some of the athletes who spoke after the tournament promised to ensure their support for President Bola Tinubu in the next election, promising not to only vote, but to mobilize their family members to ensure massive support.
