
~ Monarch: we’ve no land issues

A 73 year old blind widow, Mrs Ifeoma Amakor, has cried out to President Bola Tinubu and Anambra state governor Prof Chukwuma Soludo to rescue her from the hands of the traditional ruler of Oraukwu community in the state,Igwe Dr Emeka Onuorah
The blind widow told Razor News, that the monarch is harassing and intimidation her, adding that all the economic trees in her family had been destroyed by the monarch
As a result,no fewer than 200 youths in the community, staged a protest against the traditional ruler and his alleged cronies in collaboration with a Non Government organization, known as Ogbako Umuada Odinani Idemili Association (OUOIA)
The youths protested in the community carrying placards with different inscriptions threatening to cause mayhem next time if they failed to end the land grabbing
Speaking with Razor News, Mrs Amakor said,” the traditional ruler is harassing and intimidating me because I’m blind and have nobody to fight for me, forgetting that God is up there watching all of us.
” I’m appealing to our President,Bola Tinubu and Governor Chukwuma Soludo to rescue me inthe hands of our traditional ruler.
“He makes me to cry every day in Anambra because my husband is not alive ”
“The Igwe came in a commando style with his thugs and allies, destroyed my economic trees (udala) with fruits and other because I am a widow and blind ” she weeps
Also ,49 year old Oluchukwu Egbuchiekwe, whose portion of land is being sold by some of the alleged land grabbers in the community, while speaking with Razor News, said that they are harassing and intimidating many people in the area, especially, those who don’t have people to fight for them
He said the youths and kindred are solidly behind him, including a Non Governmental Organisation, NGO, known as Ogbako Umuada Odinani Idemili Association (OUOIA) among others
“Oraukwu community needs help. The people are suffering and in pains in the hands of those land grabbers and our lives are being threatened on daily basis” he said
However, speaking with Razor News, the traditional ruler of the community,Igwe Dr Emeka Onuorah, dismissed the allegations, adding,”I’m not involved in land matters,a committee and kindred handle such”
“I’m like the Supreme court in the community,if there is any land matter, it goes to ‘Umunna’. All these allegations are strange to me and they did not happen”
“I’m not aware of the young man you mentioned, but on the widow, what happened is that she refused to give someone access to his place with the children
” They complained to me and I intervened, yet,it fell on deaf ears,the person will not fly to enter his place, I had to come and create that opening.
“I had to be present to avoid any form of clash or violence, just to maintain peace. We don’t have any land issue ”
“Mind you, I had set up a committee over that issue before now and the woman and the children remained adamant,as a leader, I will not sit back and allow my kingdom go up in flames” the Monarch said
Meanwhile, some of the youths in the community who spoke with Razor News in confidence, said they would shut down Oraukwu community if the alleged land grabbers are not stopped
They alleged that the Monarch benefits from the proceeds of the land sells, but the monarch denied such allegation.
