The Indigenous People of Biafra( IPOB) has described the Nigeria Police as liars.
The secessionists stated this on Saturday in a statement by its media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, while debunking what they called fallacious and ridiculous claims of Nigeria Police Force Awka Command of smashing ESN gang that threatens and collects money from people at Umunze and Ozubulu.
In the statement, IPOB asked: “Why do shameless Nigeria Police keep making these caricatures of their profession?”
The statement read in part,”Nigeria Security Agents know that IPOB and ESN are not criminals. But because the Nigeria government wants to bring IPOB down and turn Biafrans against ESN, they constantly create fake news against the movement.
“When they can not create any blackmail or propaganda against IPOB and ESN, they link every crime in Biafra Land against IPOB and ESN. In the southeast today, Nigeria DSS has created several criminal gangs to claim to be IPOB and ESN when arrested by security operatives.
“Some of these criminals were given police and army uniforms for their covert criminal operations. Even when some petty criminals are caught, the Nigeria Security Forces will force them to confess being IPOB or ESN members. It is laughable that the Nigeria Police Force would constantly ridicule themselves in desperation to blackmail IPOB.
“IPOB and ESN do not call and threaten our people to support the movement. Neither do we engage in any activity that will harm the same people we are working to protect. The most IPOB can do is to solicit voluntary financial support from spirited Biafrans for sustenance of ESN to continue in their core duty of protecting our lands from Fulani invaders. No one has or can be threatened to support the struggle.
“According to the Nigeria Police Force Awka Command’s amateur blackmail, they claimed that they arrested criminals who said that they were members of a faction of IPOB and ESN. Why didn’t Nigeria Police mention which or leader of such faction?
“For record purposes, IPOB and ESN have no faction and can not have any faction. We are one family, under one command by our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu KANU. The arrested criminals are not IPOB members or ESN operatives. They are either DSS double agents or common criminals impersonating ESN.
“Nigeria Police must calculate well before dishing out garbage to the public. Until Biafra is restored, Nigeria Security Agencies will not understand IPOB and ESN operational strategies. We will always be many steps ahead of the Nigeria Security Agent’s tactics.
“The Nigeria Police in the South East has become a public nuisance in their desperation to blackmail IPOB and ESN. Even with brilliant officers in the Police Force, Chukwu Okike Abiama has always put asunder their blackmailing game against IPOB and ESN because we are on a divine mission and we remain whiter than white, and whiter than snow.
“Many years of amateur blackmail and propaganda have only exposed how ridiculous and unprofessional Nigeria Security Agents can be. Even in their propaganda and blackmail they have not been able to produce a saleable script against IPOB and ESN. Maybe they should hire some Nollywood script writers to help them.
“If the Nigeria Police, Military including DSS, wants to be respected locally and internationally, they should stop cheap and childish blackmail against this peaceful and well organized movements IPOB.
“IPOB reiterates once again that we are peaceful and nonviolent and will never be involved in any criminal activities anywhere.”
