An Anambra High Court sitting in Ogidi recently overruled Anambra State government, by returning the executive leaders of the community back to office, after they were sacked.

At the maiden meeting of the newly installed executive, indigenes of the community expressed happiness, saying that the reinstatement was a sign that government’s decision to remove them in the first place was wrong.

President General of the newly reinstated executive, Mr Nathan Enemuo who presided over the meeting assured that the leadership of the community will ensure peace in the community.

“We will continue to work to ensure peace in the community. Having been reinstated, our tenure will elapse in the next 47 days, and we are working to ensure smooth election of another set of executive.”

The meeting was attended by several personalities in the community, including the traditional ruler of the community, priests and religious, among other indigenes.

The community had been in crisis, following leadership tussle, which had broken it into factions, with each running parallel leadership.
