Army Arrests Ekwensu Anambra

The Nigerian Army has made a significant breakthrough in addressing insecurity in Anambra State with the arrest of Sunday Ofordimze Asika, Aboy Ekwensu, popularly called ‘Ekwensu Anambra’

According to a statement released on Wednesday via the Nigerian Army’s official social media handle, Asika is believed to be a member of a criminal syndicate that has been terrorizing citizens in Ugu Mkpologu and Ezinifite communities, Aguta local government area.

Items recovered from the suspect, who has been under surveillance by security agencies, include: Six cartridges, five machetes, laptop, a vehicle, various charms.

This arrest comes after a recent incident where no fewer than three persons were abducted at Mkpologwu axis of the state.

According to a community leader who wished to remain anonymous, the gunmen invaded the area around 7:30 am and whisked the victims away in their vehicles.
