Igwe Enugwu-Agidi Denies Personal Dealings with Alleged Kidnapper, Chukwudi Tansi

His Royal Highness Igwe Michael Chidozie Okekeuche (Okpalariam 111 of Enugwu-Agidi) has denied any personal dealings with Chukwudi Tansi, an alleged kidnapper.

Despite Tansi’s 12-year service in the vigilante service of Enugwu-Agidi, Igwe Okekeuche stated that he has never had any relationship with the suspect.

Igwe Okekeuche clarified that Tansi’s service in the vigilante group predates his installation as the Traditional Ruler of Enugwu-Agidi in April 2017.

The traditional ruler refuted allegations made by the President General of Enugwu-Agidi Town Union, Mr. Chukwuebuka Onuorah, that he released Tansi from police custody in Abuja.

Instead, Igwe Okekeuche stated that it was Mr. Onuorah who released Tansi, along with another suspect, Chika Okoye, after they were arrested and taken to Abuja.

Igwe Okekeuche provided evidence of Mr. Onuorah’s involvement in Mr. Tansi’s release, including a meeting held at a hotel in Kubwa, Abuja.

He accused Mr. Onuorah of trying to undermine his integrity and credibility which he built up in over 35 years as a civil servant where her retired as a director.

The traditional ruler cited several petitions written to the Anambra State Government and security agencies to investigate Mr. Onuorah’s activities.

These alleged activities include land grabbing cases, violent attacks on Etiti Village Chairman, establishment of armed militia in the town, and criminal intimidation of vulnerable indigenes of Enugwu-Agidi.

Igwe Okekeuche called on the state government and the police to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure that justice is served.

He emphasized that Mr. Onuorah’s actions are a threat to the peace and security of Enugwu-Agidi and that it is time for him to be held accountable.

The traditional ruler expressed his disappointment with Mr. Onuorah’s leadership style, stating that he has no known record of education, job, or legitimate business.

Igwe Okekeuche questioned how someone with such a background could be leading the Enugwu-Agidi Town Union.

Igwe Okekeuche reiterated his commitment to the peace and security of Enugwu-Agidi and called on the state government and security agencies to take decisive action to address the challenges facing the community.

He commended the Anambra State Security operatives for their efforts in maintaining law and order in the state

He commended the operatives for rising to the challenge of ensuring zero tolerance for crimes in Enugwu-Agidi.

The monarch thanked the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, for his wonderful security framework in the state.
