Senator Umeh Condemns Killing of Anambra LP Lawmaker, Commends Soludo’s Recent Security Efforts

Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, has expressed deep sadness and condemnation over the gruesome murder of Hon. Justice Azuka, a lawmaker representing Onitsha North 1 Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly.
“I received with sadness, the news of the discovery of the decomposing body of Hon. Justice Azuka… The worst happened yesterday when the news of the finding of his decomposing body dashed our hopes!” Senator Umeh said in a statement.
Hon. Azuka, a member of the Labour Party, was kidnapped on December 24, 2024, and his decomposing body was discovered recently.
Senator Umeh extended his condolences to the deceased’s family, constituents, and the Onitsha people, particularly his mentor, Chief Mrs. Azuka Enemuo.
“My condolences go to his immediate family and the constituents that he represented… I heartily commiserate with the Onitsha people and the Obi of Onitsha, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, CFR,” Senator Umeh added.
While grieving over the tragic loss, Senator Umeh reiterated the need for collective responsibility in ensuring the security of lives in Anambra State.
He emphasized that security should transcend political considerations, urging everyone to join forces in combating insecurity.
“We should also know that the security of lives is a collective responsibility of everybody. Let us all join in fighting the insecurity that has taken our state from all of us,” Senator Umeh stressed.
In a commendable gesture, Senator Umeh applauded Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s recent efforts in the war against criminals, evil native doctors, and witches perpetuating insecurity in the state.
He also acknowledged the contributions of unseen stakeholders in hunting down these criminal elements.
“I want to commend the efforts of the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo in recent times in the ongoing war against criminals… Let us expose any criminal activity and criminals around us to enable us recover our state from these goons,” Senator Umeh said.
As the people of Anambra State mourn the loss of Hon. Justice Azuka, Senator Umeh’s call to action serves as a reminder of the urgent need for collective action against insecurity and violence.
