Ozigbo Dumps Obidient Movement, Floats Valiant Movement Ahead of Anambra Guber Poll

In a surprising turn of events, Valentine Ozigbo, a former governorship aspirant on the Labour Party( LP) platform and close associate of Peter Obi, has abandoned the Obidient movement to launch his own political movement, Valiant Movement.

This new movement is geared towards backing Ozigbo’s bid to become the next Executive Governor of Anambra State in the November 8, 2025, elections.

On February 28, 2025, key leaders of the Valiant Movement, including Bishop Ike Okoronkwo, National Coordinator; Comr. C.C. Emereonwu, SA on Mobilization; Hon. Wendy Atikpoh, Director of Women Affairs; and Mr. Chinedu Odozor, Zonal Coordinator for Anambra North, convened a strategic grassroots engagement with Onitsha North and South leaders.

During the meeting, Bishop Okoronkwo expressed his readiness to kick-start activities in Anambra ahead of the governorship election, emphasizing Ozigbo’s character and competence as the ideal qualities for the next governor.

Emereonwu declared Ozigbo a “political game-changer” destined to win the election, while Hon. Atikpoh urged women to mobilize support for Ozigbo, citing his genuine concern for women’s welfare.

The Valiant Movement has begun sensitizing leaders across Anambra’s 21 local government areas, demonstrating its commitment to Ozigbo’s candidacy.

With the governorship election looming, it remains to be seen how this new movement will impact the political landscape of Anambra State.
