
~ Soludo gives them hope

Eight members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in Anambra state have died following none payment of 900 million NIRA owed them by the Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo
As a result, other members in their numbers, blocked the newly constructed government house and lodge in Awka, protesting the I’ll treatment
The contractors, led by Hon Nnaemeka Oraka, alleged that eight of their members died out of frustration since 2022 .
He said instead of paying all of contractors numbering 72, only seven had received payments, questioning the rationale behind such selective payment by the government
Oraka, further said that several letters to the government authorities and the intervention of the independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN had fallen on deaf ears.
The protesters, some of them wearing APGA uniforms, showing loyalty to the party and believing in the second term project of Prof Soludo, lamented that hunger had dealt with their different families
They said Soludo had refused to pay them the March and April, 2022 supply of gas that powered the street lights in the state, winch was introduced by the former administration.
The protesters involving men and women, carried placards with different inscriptions, marched from Dr Alex Ekwueme square to the new government house and lodge.
Responding, the Chief of Staff to governor Soludo, Chief Ernest Ezeajughi, assured ten that the government would look into it without further delay.
He commended their peaceful approach to the protest, adding that what had tripped him was the way some of them came on the party’s uniforms, which, according to him signified solidarity
However, he said there must be a review of those who they claimed had been paid in order not to involve the government in double payment, adding that Soludo, being a solution Governor, would not hesitate to do the needful in a very short time after the review
