~ It’s a must to attend by every well meaning person of Igbo extraction – Organizers
By Theo Rays
Miffed by domestic challenge of inordinate ambition of some section of the youth to acquire riches by wrong means such as indulging in all sorts of idolatry and diabolical practice like kidnapping, human trafficking and ritual killings for organ harvesting coupled with political marginalization with continued injustice, neglect, and denial of Ndigbo from occupying juicy positions in their country, major Igbo stakeholders including government functionaries, elder statesmen, traditional rulers, the clergy, captains of industry, civil society, NGOs, the women and youth will file out before God in Enugu the Coal City State to seek Divine intervention in a Solemn Assembly.
The one day program tagged “Ndigbo Worldwide Solemn Assembly” which is organised by a group known as Heavenly Mandated Global Mission is expected to attract expanded audience of Ndigbo from all Igbo speaking States which include Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Delta and Rivers State respectively. Our correspondent who interacted with organisers on preparations for a hitch free program reports that hope and expectations are high as the program is geared towards drawing the attention of God to intervene in the affairs of Ndigbo and address the challenges facing Ndigbo both at domestic, national and international levels.
Speaking to our correspondent on the expectations, Archbishop Dr Mike Chukwudum who is the coordinating priest for the program, explained that the program is to serve as a time of sober reflection when Ndigbo decided to retrace their step back God, admit and confess their sins and seek proper reconciliation with God because they have overtime abandoned God to live in sin and that is why things are getting worse for them. “We abandoned God overtime and that is why we facing teething challenges, but now we have realized our mistakes and retracing our our steps back to God with this Solemn Assembly” he added.
According to him “Ndigbo are children of God not just by Christian faith but also as an offshoot of Abraham the father of Israel but overtime we abandoned God to live in sin because of love of worldly material things, Ndigbo are committing all sorts of atrocities, indulging in all sorts of idolatry and diabolical practice including cultism, kidnapping, human trafficking and ritual killings for organ harvesting to make money and that is what we have decided to stop by crying out to God. Enough is enough, so we are calling on every well meaning person of Igbo extraction to join us at Amadeus Event Center in Enugu tomorrow for Solemn Assembly”
The Archbishop, went further to explain that Ndigbo will also use the Solemn Assembly to tell God about the endless marginalization of the Southeast geopolitical zone by successive administration in Nigeria with injustice, neglect and denial of Ndigbo from occupying juicy positions in their own country upon the massive contributions they are making for the development and progress of the country noting that the recent life jail sentence placed on the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a miscarriage of justice because Kanu did not commit offense that could lead to life jail sentence but was jailed because he is an Igbo man.
The Archbishop recalled that in 2023 an Igbo man, Mr Peter Obi was robbed and denied being declared the winner of 2023 Presidential election in Nigeria by the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after sweeping vote all over the country and clearly beating his rivals with wide margin. He added “Peter Obi won the 2023 Presidential election but they stole it from him. That’s pure injustice. The five States of Southeast geopolitical zone have only five Ministerial positions but one State in the Southwest has four Ministrial positions. I can go on and on to talk about the marginalization of Ndigbo in their country and we have no option left than to petition God”
