The Nigerian Optometric Association (NOA) has announced the nomination of Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie into its prestigious Honorary Fellowship.
Chairman, Education Committee of the Nigerian Optometric Association, Dr. Augustine Ugochukwu Akujobi made the disclosure during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor in his office on Wednesday, 13th May 2026.
Presenting the Honorary Fellowship Nomination Letter and invitation to their forthcoming Annual Scientific Conference and Vision Expo in collaboration with the African Council of Optometry (AFCO), Dr Akujiobi disclosed that the Vice Chancellor will be honoured in recognition of his distinguished contributions to academic and institutional development.
He praised the Vice Chancellor for his administrative reforms and innovations at Nnamdi Azikiwe University within the few months of his assumption of office.
The Vice Chancellor while receiving the delegation, appreciated the association for the honour and the invitation, while reaffirming the university’s commitment to supporting professional bodies and advancing healthcare-related collaborations.
The conference and award ceremony holds from Wednesday, 29th July, to Saturday, Ist August, 2026 at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.
