The All Progressives Congress, (APC) has cleared 27 aspirants to participate in the House of Representatives primaries in Anambra State, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The number would have been more if some of the members did not drop their ambitions for the purpose of peace and Unity of the party.
The State Chairman of the party, Senator Emmanuel Anosike, disclosed this Thursday night while briefing reporters after meeting with the legion of aspirants and stakeholders of APC at the party’s headquarters in Awka
Anosike, said the cleared aspirants emerged after undergoing the party’s screening exercise conducted by the APC screening committee.
According to him, the exercise was aimed at assessing the eligibility and readiness of aspirants vying for the party’s ticket across the federal constituencies that constitute Anambra State.
“The aspirants may emerge through consensus arrangements or direct primaries in their respective constituencies.
“Anambra APC under my watch is fully prepared for a free, fair, transparent and credible primaries that will inform Ndi-Anambra that APC is set to take its lost stage in the state.
“All our members across the 21 local government areas in the state are also on ground to select those that have the capacity to create history in their various constituencies during the voting process in the 2027 elections.
“Some of them that bought the forms were those that took the party to court and they are no longer eligible to participate in the party’s primary because they are no longer our members, they have been expelled.
” It is the rule in APC, that is why the party is disciplined. In Awka North and South they were two and one dropped. It is like that in other areas, however, work is in progress, the only thing we need to go into the coming elections is Unity and peace in our party” Anosike maintained
