Ahead of next week’s party Congress, the newly elected 21 local government chairmen and 362 ward chairmen in Anambra State have endorsed Chief Basil Ejidike, as their consensus candidate for the position of state chairman.
The endorsement took place on Thursday in Awka during a strategic meeting of the newly executives, signaling a major step in stemming internal wrangling in the party
Speaking further during the meeting, the chairman of Awka South local government area, Hon Frank Ndibe who spoke on behalf of others, said the endorsement of Ejidike is seen as an effort to sustain peace, unity, togetherness and to strengthen the Anambra APC’s internal cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said: “Ejidike has the wherewithal to further reposition the party as a credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state in the near future.
“We are unanimously endorsing and returning him back to the chairmanship position because, he has changed the negative perception of APC in Anambra State
“With Ejidike, Anambra APC is fully set to win the state for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term bid,” Ndibe boosted.
