Former chairman of Nigeria Human Rights Commission, and immediate past chairman of governing council of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Mr Chidi Anselm Odinkalu has alleged that a security chief in Anambra has allegedly snatched the wife of detained native doctor, Akwa Okuko.
Odinkalu stated in a tweet on X that while the native doctor was being held and undergoing trial, the head of a security agency in Anambra responsible for his trial was busy getting married to his wife.
Though he failed to mention the name of security chief, he asked Soludo to investigate the matter and ensure that the truth is unraveled with the hope of punishing the security chief if found guilty.
His text on X read: “I am getting multiple and credible reports that a senior cabinet adviser with responsibility for security matters in Anambra State, who supervised the enforcement action against Chukwudozie Nwangwu – better known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki – has been intensely canoodling with Akwa Okuko’s young spouse while the ex-Native Doctor serves time in prison.
“If this is true, it gives new meaning to #DoubleJeopardy and is the kind of impunity & #SelfDealing that brings government into disrepute.
“#AkwaOkuko may justly be serving time for violations of criminal law but interference with his domestic & marital arrangements is not part of the stipulated punishment, & surely not for the benefit or at the instigation of the person in government who oversaw proceedings against him.
“I am confident that Gov. @CCSoludo will investigate this & ensure that the responsible officer of his government is called to order fortwith,” he said.
