The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Nonye Soludo, has called on Christians and residents of the state to embrace love, kindness, and selflessness as they commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In an Easter message issued on Sunday, Dr Soludo reflected on the significance of the season, describing Christ’s resurrection as a symbol of unconditional love and victory over death.
She urged the faithful to renew their commitment to compassion and unity.
“Today, Christ’s unconditional love for mankind and the world is made new as we commemorate His glorious resurrection and eternal supremacy over death,” she said, adding that the season serves as a reminder that “the light of true love conquers everything.”
She encouraged individuals not to celebrate in isolation but to extend kindness to others, particularly those in need.
According to her, fulfilment comes from sharing, no matter how little, and from making meaningful impacts in the lives of others.
“Seek fulfilment in extending a hand of kindness to someone who needs it. Don’t celebrate alone — give, share, no matter how little. Doing it with your heart is what really matters, not how much you give,” she stated.
Dr Soludo further urged residents to let their actions reflect the essence of Christ’s sacrifice, noting that even small acts of love can bring joy and hope to others.
Highlighting the spiritual importance of the season, she noted that the resurrection signifies the fulfilment of God’s promise of life and salvation for humanity.
She prayed that the grace of the season would abide in families, communities, and the state at large.
She also wished residents a peaceful celebration, urging them to remain safety-conscious and maintain good health during the holiday.
Dr Soludo is married to the Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo.
