Stakeholders in Njikoka and Idemili North Local Government Areas of Anambra State have endorsed the re-election bid of Senator Victor Umeh, describing his representation of Anambra Central Senatorial District as “credible, proactive and verifiable.”

They also hailed the senator for his sustained support for the presidential ambition of Mr. Peter Obi .

The stakeholders spoke during Umeh’s Agricultural Input Empowerment Programme held in Abagana, Njikoka LGA, and Oraukwu, Idemili North LGA. A total of 400 bags of 50kg fertilizer were distributed to farmers across the two local government areas.

At the Njikoka event held at Chime Hall, Abagana, community leaders said Umeh’s interventions in education, youth empowerment, agriculture and infrastructure had made significant impact across the 58 communities in Anambra Central.

They specifically cited the Anambra Central Scholarship Programme, which they said has provided fully funded scholarships to 332 students from the senatorial district, including 31 students from Njikoka.

The stakeholders also commended the senator for facilitating employment opportunities for youths into pensionable positions, as well as his agricultural training, empowerment programmes and provision of food palliatives.

“Anyone still in doubt about Senator Umeh’s performance should go and verify,” one of the speakers said.

The stakeholders pledged their continued support for Umeh and “all NDC candidates from top to bottom” in 2027.

Speaking at the event, Senator Umeh thanked the people for their continued support for him, Obi and other NDC candidates.

He said Obi and his running mate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, were committed to ending bad governance and repositioning Nigeria to tackle insecurity, hunger and nepotism.

On the agricultural programme, Umeh said it was designed to encourage farming, boost food production and cushion the effects of economic hardship.

He distributed 200 bags of 50kg fertilizer in Njikoka and urged beneficiaries to ensure equitable distribution across wards and to farmers who would put them to productive use.

He expressed optimism that proper utilisation would lead to increased yields, improved food sufficiency and better economic returns.

Those who spoke at Njikoka included the NDC State Chairman, Ikem Uzoezie; the party’s candidate for Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha Federal Constituency, Chukwudi Okeke; candidate for Njikoka II Constituency, Uchenna Onuorah; State Woman Leader, Dr. Princess Grace; Njikoka chapter chairman, Somto Okochi; and community leaders Chief Victor Elobi and Chief Clement Ofoedu. They described Umeh as an honest and people-oriented representative.

The programme moved to Idemili North LGA, where Umeh met with stakeholders in Oraukwu and distributed another 200 bags of 50kg fertilizer.

Addressing the gathering, Umeh again thanked the people for their support for him, Obi and other NDC candidates, and urged residents to embrace agriculture as a buffer against economic hardship.

Idemili North stakeholders also endorsed Umeh’s re-election, citing his integrity and commitment to the welfare of Anambra Central.

They listed the scholarship scheme, youth employment, and agricultural training among his key interventions and assured that the inputs would be properly utilised.

Dignitaries present included the member representing Idemili North in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Kingsley Udemezue; NDC chairman in Idemili North, Anene Onyiliegbe; President-General of Oraukwu, Chief Sir Emma Olikaeze; and party stalwarts Chief Ogochukwu Agbogu, Hon. Umeh was accompanied by Uzoezie; NDC chairman in Anaocha, Chief Anayo Nnabugwu; Secretary of the Senator Victor Umeh Campaign Organisation, Barrister Ekemezie Obidigwe; and NDC chairman in Idemili South, Chief Felix Obunadike.

The agricultural empowerment programme, aimed at boosting food production across Anambra Central, has so far covered Awka North, Awka South, Dunukofia, Anaocha, Njikoka and Idemili North. Idemili South is scheduled to benefit next.
