Anambra 2025: Ifeanyi Ubah pledges to do one term, conduct LG elections in 4 months

By Tony Okafor, Nnewi

The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah, has indicated interest to contest the state’s 2025 governorship election.

Ubah stated this in a chat with some journalists in his Nnewi country home on Sunday.

He pledged to do a single term in office to complete the turn of the Anambra South Senatorial District in the spirit of the gentleman’s agreement guiding the zoning and rotation of the governorship position of the state since 2014.

Recall that the incumbent governor of the state, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, is from Anambra South Senatorial District and in the the second year of his first tenure in office.

But Ubah while vouching to do only one term in office, also said he would conduct local government elections in the state within four months if elected as the governor of the state in 2025.

He said four years were enough for any focused governor of a state to do great things and change the lives of his people positively.

Describing the development in the state as very slow, Ubah said 80 per cent of his blueprints/ideas for the development of the state were innovative and beyond the capacity of his opponents.

He said if voted as governor, Anambra State would be both the commercial and health destinations in the South-East, and Nigeria in general.

He expressed disappointment the way the incumbent governor of the state, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, was denigrating the traditional institution in the state, describing the governor’s action as petty and unfortunate.

Stating that his plans for the development of Anambra State as huge, Ubah said as a private person and politician he had done great in the transformation of the lives of many people, both in sports , education, commerce , employment and in overall youth and women empowerment.

Details later.
