Solution Estate MD urges Anambra civil servants to access housing unit

News

The Managing Director, Solution Estate Limited, Mr. Emeka Onwudinjo has urged Anambra State workers in particular and the general public to take advantage of the facilities provided by the Organization through Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) scheme to key into the housing programmes of the government.

Mr. Onwudinjo who made the call during an interactive session with Journalists in Awka on Friday, urged the working class, and youths in various walks of life to embark on long term planning to avoid the disappointment that comes with unplanned retirement.

The Solution Estate boss disclosed that they were basically into building of mass housing that would accommodate different cooperative schemes through which affordable housing was made for civil servants and the public.

He noted that the Organization operates through The Federal Mortgage Bank which, according to him, was Nigeria’s foremost mortgage institution set up to promote affordable social housing through the provision of long-term facility to mortgage institutions to meet the housing needs of citizens.

“This is an opportunity for Ndị Anambra because Anambra state Government had a robust relationship with the Federal Mortgage Bank which workers especially the low income earners in the state could take advantage to own their houses”, he said.

The MD who noted that the estate was a demonstration of his resolve to check housing deficit, especially in the city centres, said that Solution Estate at the moment have sets of 3bedroom terraced duplexes with BQ and two bedroom block of flats each currently constructed at solution estate Aguaba phase 1

“Regrettably, workers are not keying into this all-important project because they do not tap into the opportunities that abound in the mortgage system. It takes one who plans well ahead to understand that these houses can be owned even without cash”.

“Civil servants should explore the opportunities presented by Federal Mortgage Bank to own a house of their own.

“A lot of civil servants when they retire, they go to the interior village to stay because they cannot buy a house to stay in the city by the time they retire from active service. And Solution Estate, through Mortgage platforms has made it easier for acquisition of houses by civil servants”.

Onwudinjo while Commending Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo for been investors friendly, urged that infrastructure such as road constructions, rural electrification and drainage system awarded in the new Awka City should be extended to the Solution Estate.
