Anambra Dep Gov’s Aides Refuse to Join Him to APC

Senior aides working with Anambra Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke have restated their loyalty to Governor Willie Obiano and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA administration in the state while expressing dismay over the defection of their boss to the All Progressives Congress, APC on Wednesday, 13th October, 2021.

The senior aides in an interview with ABS at the office of the Chief of Staff to Governor Willie Obiano, Mr. Primus Odili, expressed shock over the development.

The Deputy Governor of the State, Nkem Okeke, had on the 13th of October 2021decamped to All Progressives Congress (APC) without any official statement on his reasons for decamping.

Speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor on General Duties, Dr. Charles Nwufo said he received the news of his boss’s defection on social media.

Dr Nwufo said the Deputy Governor, Dr. Okeke never discussed or mentioned the move to his aides wondering why someone who has benefited so much from Governor Willie Obiano will defect to a political party that is struggling to have a ground in the state and pledged his continuous support to the APGA leadership.

The Special Assistant to Anambra State Governor on Media, Mrs Stella Igboka said that the successes and achievements recorded by Governor Willie Obiano is immeasurable and vowed to finish with APGA which shared the vision and hope of Ndị Igbo.

The Special Assistants to Anambra State Governor on Legal and Political Matters respectively in the Deputy Governor’s office, Barrister Bath Okafor and Captain Chizor Obierika summarized the move as selfish and a spite to them as it clearly shows that they were never valued and carried along, which they would have strongly disapproved and assured that they will continue to propagate the ideals and mission of the accomplished administration of Governor Willie Obiano in making sure that the governor is succeeded by a responsive and visionary leader like Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
