Anambra Journalists Celebrate Colleague, Nwanosike on His Birthday

Journalists in Anambra State at the weekend converged to celebrate one of its own, a veteran journalist and South East Bureau Chief of The Nation Newspapers, Mr Onu Nwanosike.

It was the birthday of the media Chief, and his friends in the media converged on Aroma where he has an office to celebrate him.

The event which featured prayers for Nwanosike who is popularly known as Godfather also featured testimonies from many journalists in the state about his person and how he has affected their lives.

Chief among those who attended the event are; Chief Chuks Ilozue, who is the chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the NUJ, Editor of Orient Daily Newspaper, Mr Charles Otu who was introduced to the members of the Correspondents’Chapel as he is new in Anambra and Mr Gab Okpalaeze, the Director of News and Current Affairs in Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS).

Sir Vin Ujumadu a veteran journalist with Vanguard newspapers, Mr Tony Okafor a veteran Journalist with The Punch, Mrs Joy Mbachi of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mrs Betty Onuchukwu, a former chairman of Correspondent’s Chapel and many others were also in attendance.

Testimonies, both from Nwanosike’s contemporaries and younger colleagues were of his glowing practice in the media industry, and his contentment.

Others talked about his neatness, his impeccable dress sense, while others eulogized him for being fearless and never shying away from speaking the truth, no matter whose ox is gored.

The event served as a time to unwind and make merry as there was enough to eat and drink.
