Anambra Journalists from Correspondents’ Chapel Elect Ilozue As Chairman

Journalists in Anambra State under the Correspondents’Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists on Wednesday elected Chief Chuks Ilozue as its chairman.

Ilozue who is popular among journalists as Okaa Omee, a traditional title bestored on him by the monarch of his community scored 20 votes to emerge victorious.
The election which proved a very keen contest was between Ilozue who works with Daily Independent Newspaper and Mrs Joy Mbachi of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Mbachi, a Rotarian and former leader of a district of the Rotary Club in Awka polled 17 votes.
Other members of the newly elected executive include; Nkiru Nwagbo, Vice Chairman: Patrick Anaso, Financial Secretary: Toochukwu Ifejika, Secretary and Sussy Oruya.
The executive members were sworn in by the chairman of NUJ in the state, Mr Emmanuel Ifesinachi.
THE RAZOR NEWS reports that the election provided opportunity for the Journalists who have been enmeshed in reporting events in the state unwind as food and drinks were in abundance.
