The remains of the late Mr. Shedrack Okoye of Amaokwe chapter in Enugwu quarters, Umuawulu, in Awka South council area have been laid to rest.

Aged seventy, late Mr. Okoye met his untimely death on December 25,2023, when he was attacked by a masquerade for not offering money to the said masquerade.

The burial ceremony was well attended by members of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Movement.

The burial rites of the late Mr. Okoye were done in accordance with the doctrine of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic movement as members of the church from neighbouring communities gathered in their numbers to pay their last respect to him.

In a message at the event, Pastor Vincent Eyisi from Mbaukwu branch whose topic was “have you been reconciled with God” charged Christians to accept Christ as their personal lord and savior for them to be reconciled with God.

Pastor Eyisi said that one must be born again if such a person wants to inherit the kingdom of God quoting the Bible passage that says that without holiness, no eye shall see God, even as he called on the children of the deceased, to live the Christlike life lived by their father whom he said brought Lord’s Chosen church to Umuawulu and had remained committed until death.

Giving a testimony of the life of the deceased, a Pastor from Umuawulu chapter of the church, Pastor Israel Nwachukwu narrated how the deceased paid his house rent for one full year when he was having financial challenges while an elder sister to the deceased, Mrs. Catherine Nnebedum described his late brother as a peace-loving man who was always willing to help anyone in problem, regretting that his life on earth was cut short due to carelessness of an individual.

The first son of the deceased, Mr. Chukwudubem Okoye and his first daughter Mrs. Ebelechukwu Anigbogu, explained that their father was a loving father who never misses to pray for them and one who cared for all his children.

They maintained that though their father has been buried, they will make sure that whoever ended their father’s life untimely, must face the wrath of the law no matter how long it takes, even as they appreciated the traditional ruler of Umuawulu, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu and the committee members he constituted to organize a befitting burial for their father, praying God to bless them.

The event featured ministration by members of choir, Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Movement and condolences by family members, in-laws, friends and well-wishers.
