The 2023 senatorial battle in Anambra State is gradually taking shape as the political heavyweights are set to square up against each other in the People’s Democratic Party PDP.

The godfather of Anambra politics , Chief Chris Uba is set to deny the governorship candidate of the party during the November 6, 2021 election in the State, Mr Valentine Ozigbo the party’s ticket.

Both of them from the South senatorial zone, alongside others in the other two zones have been cleared by the party to vie for the ticket.

Also, in the North, the former governorship candidate of the party and former Chairman in the State, Dr Tony Nwoye, will square up with former Minister, Chief John Emeka and former Aviation Minister Stella Oduah.

Oduah, is currently, the Senator representing Anambra North zone at the red chamber.

Others said to have been cleared by the PDP Screening Committee included, Dr Obinna Uzor, Mrs Peace Ezeabikwa and Senator Uche Ekwunife

Ozigbo’s earlier alleged disqualification raised a lot of dust in Anambra State, before he was cleared

The PDP senatorial ticket in the three zones would not be a Tea Party for any of the aspirants, as the contenders are all heavyweights in Anambra politics

But all eyes would be in the North between Tony Nwoye and Senator Stella Oduah, while in the South, it would not be easy between Chief Chris Uba and Mr Valentine Ozigbo
