Anambra to unlock new possibilities with technology this year – ICT agency boss

The MD/CEO of the Anambra State ICT Agency, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, has disclosed that the state is set to pioneer new possibilities using technology this year.

Agbata stated this in a press release he personally signed and issued in Awka, Anambra State capital on Friday.

The state governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo during his campaign in 2021 had promised to train youths in ICT and also ensure ease of governance through the use of technology.

Soludo, through the state ICT agency headed by Agbata had recently pioneered the introduction of e-identity cards for all civil servants in the state.

The governor also introduced the automation of budgets process, using the ICT, while also facilitating the training and empowerment of thousands of Anambra youths in batches, through the Solution Innovative District (SID).

Agbata in Friday’s press release said his agency is set to set new possibilities this year, while calling on ministries, agencies and departments to brace up in the use of technology to solve challenges of governance.

He said: Technology holds the key to fostering accountability, driving progress, and ensuring sustainability across various sectors.

“As the agency mandated to drive the ‘everything technology and technology everywhere’ vision of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR.

“In pursuing a more accountable, progressive, and sustainable future, the Anambra State ICT Agency recognizes the pivotal role of technology in driving positive change across various sectors. The benefits are simply limitless.
