APC FLAGS OFF SOUTH EAST CAMPAIGN TODAY WITH OPTIMISM OF VICTORY
Ahead of the Presidential Election billed for February 2015, the Presidential Candidate of All Progresives Congree,APC,General
Muhammadu Buhari,will today
formally kick-start his campaign in the South East with a ceremony that would take place in Enugu,
Enugu State capital.
And this development comes at a time the officer incharge of APC Presidential Campaign,South East
Zone,Senator Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige has predicted that the party will win the presidential election
in the first ballot with 28 states.
According to Ngige,”And let me tell you, this election will be won on the first ballot by APC with 28 states as being predicted by analysts”
Ngige who addressed journalists in Awka, yesterday on how the APC has been preparing to beat the PDP in the Presidential Election,
said Buhari’s campaign in the South East Zone, which begins at the Okpara Square,Enugu, today,
will feature handing over the APC flags to the Ebonyi.Abia and Enugu states gubernatorial candidates of the party and speeches by Buhari and other party chieftains.
Ngige stated that at the end of the Enugu event, the campaign will move down to Awka on Saturday,10th of January, where an elaborate ceremony at which three key members of the House of Reps like Hon. Emeke Nwogbo and Hon. Afam Ogene, both of who left APGA and joined the APC, APC ,where they are now contesting for the House of Representatives seats of Awka North and South, and Ogbaru Federal Constituency will be giving APC membership cards and flags to prepare them effectively for the contest.
Ngige who used the opportunity offered by the briefing to recounts his numerous achievements as a Senator, disclosed that the Buhari Presidential Campaign train will at the end of the Awka Saturday event,be shifted to Owerri for the climax, where Imo State Governor,
Rochas Okorocha will get his APC’s re-election flag.
He assured that APC’s campaign will be issues based and that the Party will positively change the lives of every Nigerian when it takes over power after the February Election.
Throwing light on the nature of campaign the APC would pursue in the coming weeks Dr. Ngige contended,”Our campaign will be issues based.Issues of security,
welfare of the citizens will take centre-stage in our politics. We chosed a slogan of “change” for our party, because we want a positive change for our country.
The APC is assuring the secularity of the country as Buhari will not impose any religion on the people and since we are in a democracy,
the legislators are there to act as a check on the executive arm of government”.
Ngige regretted that Ndigbo have greatly marginalised themselves in the contemporary politics by allegedly refusing to embrace the APC,a development,he said was contrary to what is happening in other geo-political zones of North East,South West,South South and North West, among other zones where the APC has made a serious in-roads.
He deplored the negative attitude of Ndigbo towards the APC,saying,
“We are marginalising ourselves,
we are putting our eggs in one basket, this is real political shortsightedness,Igbos have lost a lot unless there is a decisive change of heart and attitudes”.
Ngige had at the event, formally declared his intention to contest again for the Anambra Central Senatorial seat for the reasons that he has so far done very well as a Senator for almost four years now.
