APGA attacks Ozigbo over claims that Soludo has under-performed

Politics

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has come hard on Labour Party (LP) chieftain, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, for scoring Soludo low in his achievements in the past two years as governor of Anambra State.

Ozigbo had while speaking with journalists at the weekend said he was unimpressed with Soludo’s performance after two years as governor, and that he has decided to contest the 2015 governorship election in Anambra, to replace him.

But APGA reacting to this said Ozigbo is simply looking for an alibi to declare his intention to run for governorship, so as to rake in donations for his campaign.

The media and publicity secretary of the party, Mr Ejimofor Opara who spoke with THE RAZOR said: “He wants to deceive people and get donations from people for his campaign. That is if he is able to emerge as candidate in his party because he may not.

“Ozigbo is just being mischievous. He said he is unimpressed, but failed to say what he would have done differently. What would he have done differently in Okpoko where Soludo has changed the fortune of the people in that area, what woul he have done differently in Ekwulobia, or in the road revolution that Soludo is working on?

“He didn’t say any of that, he just ended up by saying that he is unimpressed. He is suffering from midlife crisis and should focus on being busy. He is simply desperate to be governor. Life is difficult for the blind, and I pity him for not being able to see all that Soludo is doing.”

Speaking on Ozigbo’s promise of doing one term of four years, Opara said: “I wonder if he thinks Anambra people are gullible or dumb heads to believe that a politician will come and say he will do one term.

“Besides, you can only change a government that is not performing. And for the record, that his statement about Soludo not performing is an alibi he is throwing up, so that he can have basis to contest, but this is the same Soludo that Anambra people said is performing wonderfully well.”

He said the only thing to Ozigbo’s political career is that he is Peter Obi’s Man Friday.

“He should stop being a Peter Obi hanger-on. Let him sort out his destiny himself. It is a no-brainer to think that a Val Ozigbo would have done anything different from what Soludo is doing today or even done anything close to it. If he had anything meaningful to do, he would be busy, not seeking attention and distracting Soludo who is busy doing what Anambra people employed him to do.
