The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has unveiled its lineup of candidates for the 2027 National Assembly elections in Anambra State, signaling the party’s early preparations for the January 16 , 2027 general elections.
The list, which features candidates for the Senate and House of Representatives seats across the state’s federal constituencies, was released in a poster bearing the party’s emblem and colours.
For the Senate, APGA presented three candidates to fly its flag across the state’s three senatorial zones. They include Dozie Ferdinand Nwankwo for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Stella Adaeze Oduah for Anambra North Senatorial District, and Emmanuel Nwachukwu for Anambra South Senatorial District.
In the House of Representatives category, the party named Chinedu Benjamin Obidigwe for Anambra East/West Federal Constituency, Lawrence Chibueze Ofobuike for Aguata Federal Constituency, and Obby Nwankwo for Awka North/South Federal Constituency.
Others are Chukwudi Prince Oli ( Oba Eze Afia)for Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency, Ikenna Obumneme Iyiegbu( Ike Cubana )for Idemili North/South Federal Constituency, Paschal Agbodike for Ihiala Federal Constituency, and Obim Vincent Dike for Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo Federal Constituency.
Also on the list are Wilfred Chukwuka Onyema for Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Anthony Amechi Nwora for Onitsha North/South Federal Constituency, Odiraa Camillus Nwankwor for Orumba North/South Federal Constituency, and Maureen Chinwe Gwacham for Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency.
Political observers say the unveiling reflects APGA’s determination to consolidate its influence in Anambra politics ahead of the 2027 polls.
The party, which has remained a dominant political force in the state since 2006, is expected to face stiff competition from major opposition parties, especially the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) , the presidential platform for Mr Peter Obi.
Analysts believe the emergence of some familiar political figures on the list could shape early alignments and political calculations across the state’s constituencies in the months ahead.
