An angry patron of AirPeace airlines, Ugo Egbujo has told AirPeace that charity begins at home.
Egbujo was reacting to the high price of air ticket by the airline, for the yuletide season.
In a piece written by Egbujo, he said that while AirPeace presents itself as a patriot airline by ferrying distressed Nigerians in any part of the world back home, back in Nigeria, and especially in the south east where the owner of the company, Allen Onyema hails from, he repeatedly hikes his fare to punish prospective passengers, during celebrations.
He said AirPeace should consider Christmas as a time to come to the aid of Igbo people, especially as it is a known fact that Igbo usually travel home during Christmas.
The original piece read: “If it’s to carry stranded Nigerians back from Sudan Airpeace will do it free. It likes to be seen as patriotic
“But when it’s Christmas, Airpeace f…ks easterners. What are the priorities of the airline?
“Lagos-Owerri is a 45 minutes flight, you charge N266,000, but Lagos-Maiduguri is 2hours, and you charge N150, 000.
“Granted you exist to make profit, but profit making can become exploitation. An airline that likes to champion national unity and patriotism should understand what home-going at Christmas means to the Igbo.
“Airpeace should count its teeth with its tongue. Tomorrow is pregnant and charity should begin from home.
