A nine year old girl in a toan in Sokoto State has reportedly stabed herself to death with a kitcvhen knife all in attept to evade marraige.
It was gathered tat the girl sho is still in school had been married off to a wealthy farmer in the state and dowry already collected in advance by the parents.
The girl on her part objected to the marriage, but the parents who were bent on forcing her into the marraige to avoid paying back the dowry attempted to secretly take her to the supposed husband.
She stabbed herself to death on hearing of their plan the report stated.
