SCORES OF ANANBRA APC MEMBERS MOVE TO APGA

Anambra APC Scribe, Over 400 Supporters Defect to APGA in Ogbaru
*Ephraim is incapable of being the secretary– APC

The Local government Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogbaru Council area of Anambra State, Mr. Ephraim Madu and over 400 local government and ward executives of APC defected to the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) for what they described as lack of internal democracy in APC.
Mr Madu, while defecting with his supporters at Okpoko Town hall in Ogbaru Council area, noted that their decision to join APGA was influenced by the politics of deception, bitterness and rancor being played by their former party and the achievements of Governor Willie Obiano in Anambra state especially in the area of security of lives and property of citizens.
He told Anambra State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chinwe Nwaebili and member representing Ogbaru 1 constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Benson Nwawulu and other leaders of APGA in the area that he will join the party with more than 1000 registered members of APC in Ogbaru.
“I have been in APC for over 10 years, right from ADC to ACN and now APC and anybody who has not been in opposition will not know what it means to be an opposition especially an opposition that lacks internal democracy like APC.
“We have come that we may be admitted in APGA, which is truly an Igbo party. We have come to identify with you and pledge our loyalty to APGA leadership and to our governor, Chief Willie Obiano who is aggressively transforming the State.
“We suffered great injustice and stigmatisation in APC that most times, I don’t, travel to my home town, Ugbenu on APC uniform because my people are predominantly APGA supporters. We want to join the moving train as we collapse the structure of APC in Ogbaru today” he said.
In a quick reaction,  the APC stalwart in Ogbaru and the Anambra North zonal Youth Leader, Hon Patrick Dara, when contacted faulted the assertion that the party lacks internal democracy in Ogbaru saying that Ephraim Madu lacks the requisite knowledge to handle the party’s secretariat, hence his exit.
“If he said that the party lacks internal democracy, how come he was elected the secretary of the local government and how come we had successful primaries in all levels without fowl play” he harped.
While receiving the defectors, Hon Chinwe Nwaebili who is gunning for the House of Representatives position on the platform of APGA thanked them for the wise and timely decision and assured them that they will not regret their decision while Hon. Benson Nwawulu urged them to go to their various wards for registration and issuance of party membership cards.
Highpoint of the event include decoration of Ephraim Madu and the former PRO of APC in Ogbaru, Mr. Longinus Iheme with APGA clothes and party membership cards
