A man identified as the personal driver of an Anglican Bishop in Delta State, whose name was simply given as Bishop Chinedu has been apprehended for conniving with kidnappers to kill his master.

THE RAZOR Correspondent was at the Anambra State Police Command headquarters as the driver and his collaborator were driven into the compound.

Though the details of the incident are still sketchy, the state police commissioner, CP Ikioye Orutugu said the suspects had just been arrested, and that further investigation would reveal the details of their operations.

Orutugu said to journalists: “Don’t mind, details will be revealed to you soon after we conclude our investigations as they have just been arrested.

But THE RAZOR learnt that the principal suspect, a private driver of the Bishop, whose name was not revealed, connived with some kidnappers to dispossess the clergy man of his Toyota Landcruiser SUV, but things went wrong and the clergy man was killed in the process, while his vehicle was stolen.

Orutugu said: “They brought the vehicle into Anambra to sell it, and the man you see with him was the one who wanted to buy the vehicle, but in the process, they were arrested.”

Journalists were shielded from speaking with the suspects by police operatives who insisted that investigation was still ongoing.
