The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested former Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano.
Obiano was said to have been arrested at the International wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, while trying to board a flight to Houston, Texas in the USA.
Obiano has never hidden the fact that he would leave for USA, immediately after his tenure.
Obiano, a retired auditor with Texaco was living in US until he was brought back home by former governor Peter Obi a d made governor.
Obiano had just Thursday handed over to his successor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, where his wife had caused a stir with an attack on wife of Late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Bianca Ojukwu.
EFCC spokesperson is said to have confirmed the arrest, and the former governor has been taken to the EFCC’s office in Lagos.
The former governor has been on EFCC’s watchlist for some months now.
