Residents of NkwelleEzunaka community, Oyi Local Government
Area of Anambra State have been thrown into fear following the killing of a man whose killers left a note on his
corpse, saying ‘sit at home’.

The corpse of the slain man was dumped at the triangle axis, on the Onitsha/Nkwelle-Ezunaka /Otuocha road.

According to an eyewitness account,
“the man was brought to the scene at about 8am on the Monday in a Lexus vehicle by about four fierce-looking armed men who shot indiscriminately into the air to scare passersby within the vicinity.”
“The men wore masks to cover
their faces when they brought out
the victim from the vehicle and shot
him severally and he fell and died
instantly.
“People ran away when they came and l was among those that
ran into the bush and we were
watching them bring out the man and kill him.
“After killing him, one of them dropped a note on the corpse and they left immediately. When we eventually came out to have a closer look at the corpse, we saw that the note they dropped was written, ‘sit-at-home on Monday.’

“We also saw a police permit (sticker) for tinted windscreen vehicles that may have probably fallen from the vehicle of the unknown gunmen as the Lexus was
also with tinted windscreens.

“These items that were later
picked by some officials believed to
be security personnel would assist
immensely towards unmasking
those behind the murder and
reason for such barbaric gruesome
killing,” he stated.

The Police could not be reached at the time of filing this report.
