Wife of the governor of Anambra State, Dr Mrs Nonye Soludo has vowed to ensure that women and children in Anambra State continue to get quality healthcare services.
Mrs Soludo stated this on Friday after she was invested as Matron of Pregnant Women and Children by Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH).
As part of the investiture event, the first lady aslo commissioned the new Implant Shop and Healthy Living Shop in the hospital, while also undertaking a tour of the hospital to inspect their facilities and services.
She said: “Today was a deeply meaningful day. I had the honour of being invested as Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH) Matron of Pregnant Women and Children. This one is a role I do not take lightly.
“Behind every statistics on maternal and child health is a mother, a family, a future, and I’m committed to standing with the management and staff of COOUTH in ensuring that no woman or child in our dear state is left behind in the pursuit of quality healthcare.
“Also as part of today’s activities, I commissioned the new Implant Shop and Healthy Living Shop, alongside a tour of the hospital’s expanding services.
“These aren’t just new buildings or shelves; they represent real, tangible asset; safer medical choices, better health products, and a facility tour that reaffirmed just how much progress our health institutions are making when we invest in them deliberately and with heart.
“This is also what Healthy Living With Nonye Soludo is all about; promoting wellness, empowering healthy choices, and setting better lifestyle standards for every family across Anambra State. We will definitely support COOUTH to get the best out of these facilities.
“My deepest appreciation to the management and staff of COOUTH for their partnership and warm hospitality today. I’m deeply grateful,” she stated.
