Ifitedunu Cabinet Chief, Oduche Dismisses IPA, Says Group is Fake, Unknown

Community News

Following the leadership crisis in Ifitedunu Town Union (ITU), the umbrella body of all members of the town, a cabinet chief, and prominent indigene of the community, High Chief Dr Prince Uche Oduche has dismissed a group called IPA, saying it is totally fake and unknown.

Oduche who spoke with THE RAZOR NEWS on the backdrop of some press releases that had previously been issued by the group said IPA, Ifitedunu Progressive Association is set up by some people who benefit from causing trouble in the community.

List of those present at a meeting of appointment of trustees, which has been disputed.

He urged Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo to disregard the group, and reinstate Chief Uche Nwoye as the President General of the community, saying it would be a gift of peace to Ifitedunu.

He said: “There is nothing like IPA in Ifitedunu. Anyone that wants to be honest will tell you the same thing. Nobody from Ifitedunu will tell you he recognizes any group known as IPA.

“This is a group of people that have chosen to live and die with evil, I can put it that way.”

Referring to Evang. Jasper Azodo, a member of the discredited group, who allegedly prides himself as Chairman of Board of Trustees in the community, Oduche said the community does not have a board of trustees, and Azodo can not be a chairman of an inexistent board.

He said: “Jasper Azodo is not chairman of any board of trustees, we don’t have anything like board of trustees of our town. We have never accepted to register our community in CAC (corporate affairs commission), because we’re not doing our town issue as business. They are the same group that came up and did fake registration.

Death certificate of deceased people named to have attended the meeting.

“We have a prominent traditional ruler who is very well known, and has the support of the entire town, Igwe Chukwuemeka Ilouno, and I can tell you just like him that there is no organisation like that.

“Their motive to form IPA is to keep the town in anarchy. There are people who benefit from confusion in the community. They want to achieve their own personal interest.

“A former president general is one of those people causing trouble, and they just want to be benefiting from it. That is why they are fighting Chief Uchenna Nwoye, who is our duly elected president general.

“It will be credit to Soludo if he reinstates Nwoye. The election that brought him in was free and fair and was conducted by several very illustrious sons of our community. Nwoye won the election free and fair and his fellow contestants congratulated him and we have the video, but they ganged up to ensure that he was removed.

“They are doing that because they fear that Nwoye will probe their administration, and all their atrocities, and bring out his excesses,” Oduche said.

Meanwhile, documents obtained by THE RAZOR NEWS on the purported registration of the town union at CAC was fraught with irregularities.

Of the 15 people said to have been present in a meeting allegedly held for the adoption of trustees, two were already dead years back, with their death certificate made available to this reporter, but their names were added, while four others have denied being part of the registration.

Those who denied, but whose names were published falsely were said to include; Mr Hilary Odili, Col Mike Onuorah, Chief Dr Gabby Nwankwo and Mr Ikpeamarom Nweke.

A source told our reporter that the illegal registration of Ifitedunu town is one of the main reason why Evang Jasper Azodo, who is a former PG of the town and his cohort are fighting the incumbent PG, Chief Nwoye.
