The traditional ruler of Ojoto community, in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Gerald Obunadike Mbamalu (Ezeoranyelu ) has described the two years governance of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo as excellent.

Igwe Mbamalu said his rating was based on the nature of Anambra politics and the resources available.

He stated this in a town hall meeting at Ndiabor hall, Ojoto in Idemili South LGA,
organized by Uche Harris Okonkwo, member representing Idemili North and South federal constituency on the platform of the Labour Party .

The event which was aimed to be a round table discussion between the elected and the electorate, brought together the Presidents General (PGs), Women Leaders, Youth Leaders and the entire people of Idemili South constituency which comprised seven communities to discuss the past, the present and the future of their constituency.

Speaking at the event, Igwe Mbamalu applauded Hon Okonkwo for initiating an opportunity where the electorate could
exercise their rights.

According to the monarch, “We have come to a stage where the electorate should ask questions or hold their representative accountable for their actions.

“Meeting of this kind should be mandatory and if possible, be enshrined in the Constitution because there is a constitutional provision that allocates some funds to the Representatives for their constituency development, but there is no constitutional provision for the people that are feeling the heat from the grassroots, the constituents to ask questions to know whether those funds were actually and properly used”.

The President General (PG) of Nnokwa community, Wing Commander Joe Anyika, Ochiagha Nnokwa, described the event as a gigantic step taken by Hon. Okonkwo whom he described as an accountable officer and urged him to continue in the path of uprightness.

Earlier, Hon. Uche Okonkwo received an award of excellence from the Association of Music and Film Producers and Marketers of Nigeria, AMUFPMAN.

Responding, Hon. Okonkwo expressed his gratitude for the show of love from the Association and promised to render assistance as at when needed.
