An Awka-based Legal Practioner, Barrister Anthony Kelechi Agbasere, has call on the National leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC), to cancelled the just concluded governorship primary of the party that purportedly produced Senate Andy Uba, as the party flag bearer ahead of Anambra November 6, 2021 guber polls.
Agbasere, alledged that Senator Uba convive with the Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, who head the Electroral Committee in the state to hijack the collective exercise in favour of Uba.
Razor had earlier reported that the chairman of the APC primary election panel and governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, announced the outcome of the poll at Golden Tulip Hotel, Agulu Lake, Awka, early on Sunday.
Abiodun said Uba emerged the winner with 230,201 votes while his closest rival, Johnbosco Onunkwo polled a total of 28,746 votes.
He said a 348, 490, votes were cast in the primary election.
He said election committee adopted the open ballot mode also known as Option A4 to conduct the primary election.
But the legal luminary, who was speaking to Journalists, on the outcome of the primary in Awka, on Monday, corroborated Dr Chris Ngige and the eleven aggrieved aspirants of the party that the primary did not hold in the state.
He call for a fresh primary election for the sake of fairness and transpeancy, if APC must take over power from the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state.
“He said; as far I am concern, no APC primary was held in Anambra state, on Saturday, last week.
“If Andy Uba thinks he is marketable and saleable among other co-contesters in the faces of party supporters, he would have allowed the process, open to test his popularity.
I” can say this anywhere that Senator Andy Uba convive with Governor Abiodun to hijack the election, the lawyer insist.
He said the party should allow other aspirants who had also spend a lot of money to participate in the election to exercise their right as party men.
He accused Andy Uba and his brother, Chief Chris Uba, of being behind all the political crises in Anambra state.
According to him, his brother, Chris Uba, is also causing division in the People Democratic Party.
” These same Ubas where the people that truncate Dr. Chris Ngige-led government and kidnapped him for not dancing to their direction.
“As a lawyer, who has practice and live in Anambra state for decades, I can tell you, no APC primary election took iplace in this state.
Agbasere advise APC to use super delegates as PDP did to elect a marketable and saleable candidate, if the party must sustain its unity to win Anambra election and the 2023 general election respectively.
