A group of university lecturers drawn from the seven local government areas of Anambra Central Senatorial District has expressed support for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, ahead of the January 2027 senatorial election.

The lecturers declared their position on Sunday, October 11, 2026, during an interactive session with Nwankwo at Enugwu-Ukwu, where discussions focused on leadership, effective representation and the need for vibrant candidates in the National Assembly.

Nwankwo urged the electorate to unite behind his candidacy, promising inclusive representation and equal attention to the interests of communities across the senatorial district.

He assured constituents from Njikoka, Dunukofia, Anaocha, Awka North, Awka South, Idemili North and Idemili South that their communities would be carried along in his representation.

Describing his constituency office as a facility belonging to all constituents, the APGA candidate said residents would be free to visit or contact the office whenever they needed assistance.

“This constituency office belongs to all of us,” he said, assuring constituents that they would receive attention whenever they sought assistance.

Nwankwo disclosed that arrangements had been concluded to keep the office’s telephone lines open round the clock to enable constituents to reach his staff and receive prompt attention.

He urged voters to support his candidacy, saying his election would enable him to serve the collective interests of the senatorial district.

Speaking on behalf of the lecturers, their spokesman, Dr Chike Oramalu, said Nwankwo emerged as their preferred candidate following what he described as a thorough scrutiny and assessment.

Oramalu, a political science lecturer at the University of Idaho in the United States, urged voters to make informed decisions when casting their ballots in the forthcoming election.

He called for a new generation of leadership characterised by articulate engagement, effective representation and the capacity to address constituents’ concerns.

Nwankwo secured the APGA ticket to contest the Anambra Central senatorial seat and is seeking the support of voters across the seven local government areas ahead of the January 2027 election.
