NMA honours CMD of Princeton Hospital, Amaechi Nwachukwu for meritorious medical practice

Anambra State chapter of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) has honoured the Chief Medical Director of Princeton Orthopedic Hospital, Dr Amaechi Nwachukwu with an award of meritorious medical practice.

Nwachukwu, a foremost orthopedic surgeon based in Awka is also the senior pastor of Rhema Deliverance Mission in Awka.

He was honoured alongside two other medical practitioners; Dr Samuel Udobi, and Dr Marcel Ifeanyi Ugha for their meritorious practice. Also awarded is Mr Chukwudi Nwafor, the Managing Director of Palm tree pharmaceutical company, who though not a medical doctor was described as a friend of NMA.

Speaking on the choice of Amaechi Nwachukwu and the others for the award, Dr Princeton Okam, the Chairman NMA in Anambra State said: “They are being awarded today for their professional conduct and overall achievements in the field of medical practice.”

Okam thanked the the selection committee for coming up with names, whose contribution in medical practice cannot be faulted.

The award presentation was made to the awardees during the 2024 physician’s week and award luncheon in Awka on Saturday.

Okam in his welcome remarks at the event said: “I welcome you all to the 2024 ANAMBRA STATE PHYSICIANS’ WEEK Opening Ceremony/Scientific Conference hosted by NMA AWKA ZONE.

“The Physicians’ Week is an annual event laden with activities that remind us of our Hippocratic Oath which embodies the ethics of our clinical practice, reminds us of our duties to one another, our families, our patients and to our God.

“It is a time to introspect and re-assess our practices and review the current indices affecting us with a view to charting a positive course.”

The event was attended by several dignitaries including medical doctors from across Anambra State.
