A group, Anambra State Coalition of Goodluck Support Groups has said that it is appalled by the brazen attack on the person of the former governor of Anambra State, Chief Peter Obi whom they said brought a breathe of fresh air to the state with his style of governance.
The group said that the matter is even made worse by the fact that some of the people who benefited from the government of Obi were the ones working hard to discredit him at a time when the government of President Goodluck Jonathan has seen his potentials and decided to pick him up to help in the re-election bid.
The group reassured Obi of their support saying, “We are solidly behind former governor Peter Obi and no amount of campaign against him can make the people to forget the record set by his government in the eight years that he was governor.
“Mr Peter Obi is a man of integrity and he remains so. We are proud of his achievement in Anambra State and we believe that if the governments after his make their own contributions, Anambra will be great.”
