Obi of Onitsha leads Igbo leaders to Shanahan Varsity for Igbo day

The Obi of Onitsha,Nnaemeka Achebe, is leading other Igbo leaders to the Igbo cultural day at the Shanahan University in Anambra state.

The event, which comes up on Saturday at the University’s main campus in Onitsha, will feature who is who in Igboland , with the theme; “Igbo ga adi”(Igbo will be), being organized by the school of general studies.

Some of the prominent Igbo sons and daughters to grace the first of its kind event in Igboland, include religious leaders, Politicians, Professionals among others.

According to the Director, School of General Studies,Prof Ngozi Ezenwa -Ohaeto,it would be a day of celebration and a day of joy.

“It is the day Shanahan University will show the world that Igbo language and culture matter and will not go extinct.

Other prominent Igbo sons spearheading the event included, the traditional rulers of Ivite -Anam,Igwe Sunday Ozoemena,who will be the special guest of honour, while Igwe Gerald Mbamalu of Ojoto,is the royal Ambassador of Igbo language and culture of the day.

Prof M C Onukawa of Abia state University,Uturu will be the guest of honour, while the Provost, College of Medical Sciences will be the chairman of the occasion with Prof Josephat Oguejiofo, the Vice Chancellor of Shanahan University is the chief host.

The occasion will equally, feature Igbo cultural exhibitions and Igbo cuisines.
