There is already panic among some politicians in Ogbaru Local Government Area as Chief Chris Nwokedi prepares to formally declare his intention to run for a seat in the House of Representatives on Saturday.

Nwokedi, a strong politician in Ogbaru will declare at Atani, headquarters of Ogbaru Local Government Council on Saturday, on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to represent the people of Ogbaru federal constituency.

The politician had in 2011, about 12 years ago contested for the same position and won the ticket of the APGA, but was compelled by the party to step down for a journalist and Editor, Hon Afam Ogene.

In an interview with THE RAZOR NEWS, Akaekpuchionwa said: “This time, I’m coming with full force, and I’m sure I’m going to win the ticket and also win the election.

“Our people know me, and they know my capability, and they know that the only person they can give their ticket in APGA who can match Hon Chu Chu Onyema is myself.

“Our supporters are ready. I have been away for sometime, but I’m back. When my ticket was taken in 2011

and given to Afam Ogene, I left the country to go and attend to my businesses, but I’m back now.

“My supporters have since then been urging me to come and run, and I thank God that they kept faith with me. Since I came back, over 300 of my supporters who had earlier left the party to join PDP and APC have all come back.

“I shall be declaring my intention to run on Saturday, before my towns people, and you will see a lot of them who left the APGA for a long time, but who are back, because they heard I’m running on the platform of the party,” Akaekpuchionwa said.

THE RAZOR NEWS gathered from some members of Ogbaru community that since Akaekpuchionwa started making his intention known, some other contenders, including the current Chairman of Ogbaru Local Government Area,Hon Arinze Awogu have been feeling jittery, because of Akaekpuchionwa’s growing popularity.
